Does a day go by when you don't send a text? Or search for a specific number? When connecting with a new person or business, QR codes allow for rapid connection — even for texting!
You can connect a QR code to pull up a user's SMS application and pre-populate the phone number and an optional message. A QR code can not instantly send a text message, as the user must take one action which is to voluntarily hit “send” to successfully send a message. The QR code will not send a text message automatically, but instead will do all the work for the user prior to hitting “send”.
Linking a QR code to a text message or SMS is the most effective way to create direct connections with your audience. You can leverage this technique to encourage appointment bookings, business inquiries, support requests, or simply collecting contact information to grow your customer database. Later, you can also use them when you send SMS reminders or any product updates to your audience making things quicker. QR code to text (SMS) allows customers who are interested in your product or service to get in touch with you instantly.
Setting up a QR code to a text message (SMS) is possible if you have a working phone number and a flowcode.com account.

Step 2: Login to your Flowcode.com account
Step 3: Navigate to the top right hand corner of the dashboard and select “Create” —> “Flowcode”. You will be redirected to the Flowcode generator where you will create your Flowcode and set the scan destination to a phone number of your choice.
Step 4: You will be redirected to this page
Step 5: Name your Flowcode
Step 6: Design your Flowcode. There are several options to choose from. Click here to learn more about how to design your code.
Step 7: Under “I want my code to scan to” select the "SMS" icon, and paste your phone number.
Step 8: Select “Create” or “Create and Download” to start using your code! You must select “Create” or “Create and Download” in order to ensure your QR code is activated. Screenshotting your QR code will not activate your QR code. You must input your phone number in step #7, otherwise the “create” buttons will appear grayed out.
