In partnership with The Seaport, MoonPay integrated Web3 technology into the historic Manhattan neighborhood via a one-of-a-kind digital scavenger hunt. MoonPay is a leading financial technology company that simplifies the buying and selling of digital assets, unlocking access to next generation transactions and digital ownership for everyone. Challenges and Objectives
The Seaport aimed to provide real-time engagement to visitors to the neighborhood, transforming the traditional consumer experience into something interactive and rewarding. The real estate and hospitality company also sought to garner actionable insights about the 10M+ people that visit The Seaport each year.
The Seaport Scavenger Hunt
To achieve these objectives, MoonPay powered the Seaport Scavenger Hunt. For three months, visitors were challenged to discover 10 purple “pearls” hidden across The Seaport neighborhood for a chance to win real-life prizes. Each pearl featured a Flowcode QR code for participants to scan and unlock a digital token that marked their progress. Once all 10 tokens were collected, participants were entered into a weekly prize draw to win rewards such as concert tickets, complimentary meals at The Seaport’s restaurants, gift boxes, and more. Visitors were invited to complete the scavenger hunt multiple times each week – the more they played, the greater their odds of winning.
