Kaua'i Forest Bird Recovery Project

OUR MISSION The Kaua‘i Forest Bird Recovery Project aims to promote knowledge, appreciation, and conservation of Kaua‘i’s native forest birds. We focus on one threatened ('i’iwi) and three federally endangered species (puaiohi, ‘akikiki, and ‘akeke’e) , with the goal of facilitating recovery of their populations in the wild.

We are pleased to announce our second annual bird art exhibit! This year's theme is “Wings and Woodlands: A Tribute to Native Birds and Forests”. This event will be part of the celebrations of Makahiki o nā manu nahele - Year of the Fores Birds. CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS - Origami project (not students)

Particpate in our student origami project!

Students across the islands are encouraged to learn about our species forest birds and use their imagination to create origami. Finished birds will be displayed on Kaua'i at the KSA gallery Nov 2-8, then again on O'ahu location tbd. Teachers, get your classroom package with origami paper at Kumu's cupboard, while supplies last!

Requests for Speakers, Classroom visits or Informational Booths
